Frequently Asked Questions

Is Wise Up similar to therapy?

Great question! We are big advocates for therapy and indeed we have therapists on the team, this is NOT therapy. It’s skills training.

While it’s fair to say that you might talk about some of the same challenges with a therapist as you do in a Wise Up workshop, we stay focused on teaching skills and techniques to deal with these challenges in a practical, solution-oriented way, that serve the common needs of the group, incorporating presentations, discussions, role plays, demonstrations and improv-based techniques.

Is this in-person, remote, or a hybrid of both?

Wise Up is live and in-person only. We have no plans to offer online workshops.

Where are workshops being held?

Wise Up workshops are held in a beautiful, residential loft setting in Chelsea, NYC. Close to Penn Station and two blocks from the 1 train on 28th St.

We also have another location in NoMad and some workshops will be held there.

Are materials included?

Yes! Each workshop includes a workbook or handouts to help you document your learning, take notes, and prepare for your practice sessions.

What is your phone policy?

Wise Up is a no-phone zone during workshop time. This is to protect privacy and confidentiality as much as focus and attention.

Can my company sponsor my attendance?

Yes! Email info@thewiseupclub.com for more information.

What’s your confidentiality policy?

We take your privacy, psychological safety, and confidentiality very seriously. All Wise Up: New York members are asked to sign our confidentiality and privacy agreement and we have our own strict policy about non-disclosure of your personal information.

Basically, this is Vegas - we don’t talk about anything that’s raised in the room outside of that room and we’ll fire or kick anybody out who violates that agreement. No exceptions. Some shit is just not OK.
